About Us
The West Virginia Association of Elementary Middle School Principals, WVAEMSP, is the only Professional Association in West Virginia solely representing Elementary and Middle School Principals. WVAEMSP is an affiliate of the National Association of Elementary School Principals. That is, you join both organizations at one time. You are a member of both if you are a member of WVAEMSP.
Members of WVAEMSP/NAESP receive:
- $400.00 State Level Legal Aid Protection (LAP).
- Updates from State and National Associations re Legislation, trends, and strategies via hard copy publications and/or electronic transmission.
- $1,000,000 liability protection.
- $1,000 National LAP Benefit per each continual membership year up to $10,000.
- State Executive Director to advise and direct one if a question arises and attend meetings and hearings with members.
- National Association Associates to advise one if questions arise.
- Annual State Conference that provides credit toward Continuing Ed. Hours requirement of West Virginia Center of Professional Development Principals’ Leadership Academy hours.
- Annual National Principals Convention in various cities in USA that provides astounding lectures and many opportunities for Professional Growth
- Principals’ representation on State and National Committees and/ or Task Forces that are instrumental in standards, requirements and regulation of standards for Teachers, Principals, Superintendents, Local Board of Education Members, etc.
- Publication: PRINCIPAL magazine which publishes articles on many facets of schools and principals.
Membership in your professional Association is practically a “must” simply for the liability and LAP benefits not to mention the Publications and updates one receives.
